A HUGE Reason I Should Move To Portland

I’m gluten-free.

Seattle has a ton of GF-friendly places and I’m happy for that. It makes it way easier to eat GF in this city. There are pizza joints that serve GF pizza, and there are ton of great Asian restaurants that inherently offer GF food. And my neighborhood supermarkets offer GF beer.

Deschutes BreweryBut I just heard that Bend, Oregon’s Deschutes Brewery is making a GF beer, but only serving at their taphouses in Bend and Portland. I drank a lot of their brew before I was diagnosed, and I miss “regular” beer a lot. The GF beer I drink is not bad, and as far as I know there were only three GF beers available (Redbridge, Bard’s Tale, and New Grist), but the news that ANOTHER beer is on the market, from one of my favorite Northwest brewers makes me really excited.

This new GF beer is called Gluten-Free Golden Ale, and will be available in ONE week, but only in Portland and Bend. Buuuut…. perhaps if the GF heaps enormous amounts of praise on them, they will bottle it and ship it up to Seattle.

I guess I should at least try the beer first? My bet is that it will be my favorite GF beer.
